Faules Ich/ Lazy me

Liebe Leser, Dear all,
Wie geht es heute? Mir ganz gut, aber ich bin RICHTIG dankbar, dass Freitag ist!! Das Wochenende brauche ich diesmal ganz, ganz dringend. Ich freue mich auch richtig auf dieses, mein Bruder und seine Freundin besuchen uns - PC werd ich nicht viel machen können, aber geniessen werd ich es trotzdem!
how are you today?? I'm all right, but RELLY thankful it's friday!! Need the weekend badly this week.. I'm really looking forward to this one, my brother and his girlfriend are visiting, won't get too much PC done, but I'll enjoy it nonetheless!

Gestern habe ich nicht mehr geschliffen. Ich musste unbedingt Perlen wrappen (mit Draht wickeln), das konnte keine Minute länger warten. Es ist erstaunlich, was alles unbedingt gemacht werden muss sobald schleifen am Horizont erscheint. Man könnte mich dann sogar beim Staubsaugen oder spülen erwischen - was eigentlich mein Mann macht... Ich stelle die schönsten Sachen her, backe sie.... und dann liegen sie und liegen und liegen. Und liegen noch ein bisschen. Natürlich, wenn ich es dann mal durch alle 4 Schleifvorgänge geschafft habe (ich muss garnicht so lang und viel schleifen - es fühlt sich nur so lang an!!) und beim polieren bin bin ich sehr glücklich über den Unterschied, den das Schleifen gebracht hat. Geht es euch auch so? Habt ihr irgendwo einen Schleif-Sklaven gefunden (wenn ja: wo??? ;-) ) oder wie sammelt ihr eure Disziplin fürs Schleifen?
I didn't get any sanding done yesterday. Wire wrapping was the thing to do and just couldn't wait any minute longer. It's amazing where all the things that absolutely need to be done come from when I should be sanding. You might even catch me vacuuming or doing the dishes (which normally my hubby does). I will create the most beautiful things (well, at least in my eyes they are), bake them.... and then they'll just lay there forever and ever and ever. Of course, once I get to buffing (actually I do not need to sand THAT long - it just feels like forever) I am happy about the impact sanding has had. Is it the same for you? Did you find a sanding elf somewhere (if so pls. tell me where... ;- ) ) or how do you get your discipline for sanding up?

Relying on technology

Liebe Leser, Dear all,
wie geht es heute? Ich hoffe wohlauf und glücklich? Das wäre auch gleich die Überleitung zu meinem "dankbar" - nachdem ich heute 24h lang an einen Überwachungsapparat angeschlossen bin bin ich dankbar für die sehr gute Gesundheit meiner Familie, die allem zu trotzen scheint. *klopf auf Holz*
how are you today? I hope happy and healthy - which leads me directly to my thankful part: sitting here with some machine on my body mesuring my blood pressure the next 24hrs I am very, very thankful both husband and daughter are very healthy and resistant against almost everything.

Ist euch jemals aufgefallen wie sehr ihr von Technik abhängig bzw auf sie angewiesen seid? Mir nicht - bis gestern unser Monitor kaputt ging. Nicht nur, dass wir unsere Mails nicht checken konnten - was schlimm genug war - sondern man sollte dem Monitorhersteller auch noch eine Mail schreiben, wenn man Probleme hat. Äh, HALLO?? Natürlich wurde nirgends eine Telefonnummer oder Adresse angegeben. Nun gut, glücklicherweise haben wir ja 2 nicht technikabhängige Beine auf denen wir zum Laden gelaufen sind, in dem wir ihn gekauft haben. Es wird eine zeitlang dauern, bis er repariert ist, aber immerhin. Allerdings hab ich ziemlich schlecht geschlafen, weil ich mir immer vorstellte mein Backofen würde den Geist aufgeben und ich tagelang keine neuen PC Sachen (Polymer Clay, nicht personal computer ;-) ) backen können... da kann man sich dann nicht behelfen. Wie sehr seid ihr von Technik abhängig/ verlasst euch auf sie?
Did you ever notice how much we rely on technology in our everyday life? I usually don't - until yesterday, when our monitor died. Not only were we not able to check our mails etc (which was hell!!) - but you were supposed to mail the monitor company when you had problems with the monitor. Uh, hello??? How am I supposed to do that, guys? Of course no adress or telephone number was given. Well, we have 2 feet who work without technology and walked to the store we bought it at. Will take a while longer until it is replaced, but fortunately I have my PC at work. Gave me nightmares to imagine my oven broke down, though, and I would not be able to bake any of my finished pieces... no way around that, I think. How much are you depending on technonolgy?
